Department of Nanotechnology Engineering
The Department of Nanotechnology Engineering at OSTİM Technical University is established to develop innovative solutions in materials technology and nanotechnology, conduct cutting-edge research aligned with industry needs, and train the next generation of engineers. Designed with an interdisciplinary approach, our curriculum integrates both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, equipping students with the skills necessary to make direct contributions to the industry.
Our program focuses on nanoscale material design, advanced manufacturing techniques, surface engineering, laser technologies, spectroscopic analysis methods, energy storage materials, biomaterials, and functional materials. Students engage in research on the synthesis, characterization, and application of nanomaterials, participating in projects aimed at advancing materials science to new frontiers.
The department offers a unique industry-integrated education model through strong collaborations with OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, industrial partners, research centers, and international academic institutions. Through this structure, students have the opportunity to participate in industry-supported R&D projects, contributing to the development of innovative materials, optimization of production processes, and advancement of technological transformation.
Moreover, with the establishment of a project development office at Günhan Aluminum, students gain valuable hands-on experience by working directly on-site in industrial R&D projects. This initiative provides an exceptional opportunity for students to participate in projects submitted to TÜBİTAK and other funding programs, further strengthening their research and innovation capabilities.
Our state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure is further enhanced by a strategic partnership with UNAM (National Nanotechnology Research Center) at Bilkent University. This collaboration grants students access to world-class research facilities, enabling them to master cutting-edge analysis and fabrication techniques, fostering their development as competitive engineers on an international scale.
The Department of Nanotechnology Engineering spans a broad range of applications, including defense industry, automotive, aerospace, energy, biomaterials, electronics, and healthcare technologies. Our graduates emerge with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions and create advanced material technologies tailored to industry needs, gaining both academic expertise and real-world industrial experience.
Our mission is to provide students with a technology-driven, industry-integrated, innovative, and application-oriented education, empowering them to become globally competitive engineers. By fostering interdisciplinary studies, industry collaborations, and hands-on projects, we aim to maximize our students' academic success and career opportunities.
