Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı ALTAŞ (Head of Department)

İsmail H. Altaş received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Yıldız University Kocaeli Faculty of Engineering, in 1985, and his master's degree from Karadeniz Technical University, Türkiye, in 1988. He has completed his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering in the University of New Brunswick, Canada in 1993.
He worked in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University from 1986 to 2024 and joined OSTİM Technical University as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in December 2024.
He continues his research on modeling and control of power systems, renewable energy systems, microgrids, automatic control, intelligent control, fuzzy decision making, artificial intelligence applications in power systems and cybersecurity in microgrids.

Prof. Dr. İsmail AVCIBAŞ

İsmail Avcıbaş received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Uludağ University, Department of Electronic Engineering in 1992 and 1994, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree from Boğaziçi University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2001. Dr. Avcıbaş's research interests are in information forensics and security. He has pioneered the development of universal steganalysis methods and has been a consultant to the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and TÜBİTAK. His research projects on forensics of digital objects have been supported by TÜBİTAK and NSF.

Mirzahan Hızal

 

Prof. Dr. Eduge Mirzahan HIZAL

He is a 1969 graduate of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of the Middle East Technical University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1973 from the University of Manchester, England.
He was the Secretary of the Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). He was also the project advisor and project director of SAVTAK projects at TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. Mirzahan Hızal is the Director General of HIZAL High Voltage (HIZAL Yüksek Gerilim) Ltd.
He has been an academician at the METU since 1979.

Prof. Dr. Yalçın ATA

He is a 1998 graduate of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of the Karadeniz Technical University. He received his M. Sc. From Gebze Technical University in 2000 and Ph. D. From Gazi University in 2010.

Between 1999 and 2001, he worked as a project engineer responsible for transmission and SCADA systems at the Istanbul Metro Company. After completing military service, he served as a project engineer at METU Technopark in 2003. Between 2004 and 2020, he worked as a senior researcher, chief researcher and deputy director at both TUBITAK Defence Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE) and TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute (UZAY) respectively. He took part in many defense and space projects as both employee and technical leader. He has been a board member of TUBITAK UZAY and DeltaV Space Technologies Co., and executive board member of strategic projects under Defense Undersecretary for 3 years. He became an Associate Professor in 2017. He served as a referee in TUBITAK Projects, academic journals and congresses. His research areas include optical communication, propagation in atmospheric and oceanic turbulence, modulation techniques and infrared detection. He has many published papers in his field.

Prof. Dr. Sinan KIVRAK

Sinan Kivrak graduated from Kayseri Erciyes University Electronics Engineering Department in 1996. He completed his master's degree in Denizli Pamukkale University Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2000. In 2008, he completed his doctoral study on "COMPREHENSIVE DESING FOR CONTROLLING AND MODELLING OF AN OFF-GRID PV SYSTEM AT MAXIMUM POWER OUTPUT" at Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Solar Energy, Solar Tracking Systems, Battery and Battery Control Systems, Unmanned Aerial and Land Vehicles, Electric Motors and Motor Drivers, Weapon and Shooting Systems, High Voltage Cable Test Systems, Prosthesis and Prosthesis Sensors, Embedded Systems and Applications, Power Electronics Applications, He has studies on many subjects such as Transformer Design Analysis, Parachute Activation Systems, Electric Vehicles, and inventions that have become commercial products as a result of these studies. In 2012, the fast alternator and test unit of the SOM missile were designed and manufactured within the scope of GAYDA Engineering Energy Company, founded by Kıvrak. He has articles in many national and international journals on his study subjects. Known for his inventions and patents, Sinan Kivrak is stillworks as a Professor Dr. at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ankara Ostim Technical University.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin KÖSE

He completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2009. He did his master's and doctorate studies in the fields of power electronics and embedded control at Gazi University Institute of Science and Technology between 2009-2020. Between 2009-2021, he worked as an R&D unit engineer and manager in a private company. He is well-equipped to design and manufacture power electronics products such as rectifiers, inverters, UPS, switching converters and to carry out R&D projects in these fields.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Şenol GÜLGÖNÜL

After graduating from Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he completed his master's degree at Gebze Institute of Technology and his doctorate at Sakarya University Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He took part in important projects in Turkey's technological development such as TURNET internet infrastructure, Türksat 1A-1B, Türksat 3A, Türksat-3 USAT, Türksat 6A satellite programs, Türksat Observatory, Türksat Atomic Clock and National Positioning System, Altay National Battle Tank. He continues to work on control, embedded systems, FPGA, positioning systems, satellite communications and artificial intelligence.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Arda KILIÇ

He graduated from Pamukkale University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in June 2017, and completed his PhD program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the same university in December 2024.
His research areas include high efficiency motor drive design for electric vehicles, motor control methods on energy efficiency, embedded systems and battery management systems. He particularly focuses on topics such as synchronous reluctance motor drivers, telemetry systems, microcontroller training sets, high-power switching power supplies and original PCB design.
He also took part in projects supported by TÜBİTAK and KOSGEB and made scientific and technological contributions.
At Ostim Technical University,  He continues his work as a Dr. Teaching Staff.

Research Assist. Hande Nevin KILIÇ

She graduated from Pamukkale University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in June 2017. Then, she completed the master’s degree program with thesis at Pamukkale University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in December 2019 and currently continues her thesis studies in the Doctorate Program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She has worked on driver design and software for electric motors, motor control methods, embedded systems, design of training sets with microcontrollers and sensors, high-density switching power supplies, original PCB design, production, typesetting and programming, motor driver design and control for electric vehicles, telemetry design and software for electric vehicles, battery charger design for electric vehicles, deep learning-based control and prediction applications. She has a master's thesis titled "Roketlerin Yönlendirilmesinde Kullanılan Fırçasız Doğru Akım Motorları İçin Alan Yönlendirme Tabanlı Kanatçık Denetleyici Tasarımı (Field Orientation Based Fin Controller Design for Brushless Direct Current Motors Used in Rocket Guidance)" and an international paper titled "RF Telemetry Design for Electric Vehicle". In addition, she has taken part in projects supported by TUBITAK and KOSGEB.
