Prof. Dr. Demiral AKBAR E-Mail: demiral.akbar@ostimteknik.edu.tr Prof. Demiral AKBAR completed his Bachelor's (1993) and Master's (1996) degrees in the field of Plasma and High Energy Physics. In 2006, he received his PhD in Plasma and High Energy Physics from METU. Prof. Akbar has been actively involved in developing and installing many renewable energy and storage systems for national and international companies. In addition, he contributed to many national and international projects: Turkish Accelerator Center Project (TAC), Ankara; Forschungszentrum Julich GmbH-Germany Research Center (TEXTOR); and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-ROSSENDORF (FEL-Free Electron Laser) are some of the centers where these projects are. Since 2019 he has participated in and integrated coordination teams of R&D projects in collaboration with the industry. The research activities have focused on the development of models to support decision-making, comparative analysis, and best practices of implementation in the scope of Life Cycle Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0. |

Prof. Dr. Birol KILKIŞ E-Mail: birol.kilkis@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Kilkis received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with high honors from Middle East Technical University and graduated in 1972 from von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in Belgium with Honors. Dr. Kilkis has been working on heat transfer, unified heat transfer theory, high-performance buildings, quantum mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat pumps, energy strategies, hydrogen energy with renewable energy systems, hydrogen cities, 5th generation Net-zero exergy cities, district energy systems, aerodynamics, exergy analysis, combined heat and power, tri-generation, green airports, sustainable aviation, integrated solar PV systems, and energy simulations. He is the co-author of a most recent book on Cogeneration with Renewables. In total, he has published more than 600 papers in several journals and proceedings on a large variety of topics. Since 1972, he has been the principal investigator of several industrial projects, including a NATO Science for Stability project on a de-centralized, co-generating 1.5 MW fluidized-bed power plant. He had been a contractor to DOE, Morgantown Energy Technology Center in West Virginia twice on fluidized bed heat transfer modeling. Between 1998 and 1999, he acted as the project principal for snow melting systems for Air Force bases, heat tracing of fighter jet aircraft during freezing periods, and snow/ice melting of helicopter pads on Navy Vessels. He taught at METU, Gannon University and University of Missouri Rolla in the USA, and Baskent University. Currently he is the Regional Distinguished Lecturer of ASHRAE and the vice-chair, and WP 1 Leader in ETIP Renewable Heating and Cooling in the European Union, Brussels. |

Prof. Dr. Yusuf ŞAHİN E-Mail: yusuf.sahin@ostimteknik.edu.tr Prof. Dr. Yusuf SAHIN completed his B.Sc (1977) and M.Sc degree (1988) at Department of Manufacturing Technology/Engineering of Gazi University in Ankara. He awarded his Ph.D Degree in“Development of metal matrix composites, their mechanical and wear properties” at Department of Mechanical Engineering from University of Aston in Birmingham (UK), 1995, funded by Higher Eduation Council (YOK). He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Mechanical Education Department in Gazi University, promoted to Associate Professor and Professor in 1996 and 2002, respectively. He then was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Manufacturing Engineering of Technology Faculty at Gazi University in 2011. He was given lecturer at Department of System/Mechanical Engineering in Turkish Military Academy and Atilim University. Awarded a research by Higher Education Council (YOK) to Virginia Polytechnic University (USA) in 2013 for a period of three months. Prof. Şahin was funded on 8th March 2013 by Turkish Scientific&Technical Council (TUBITAK) for investigation on “Sliding wear of polymeric based advanced composites” at Soete Lab of Mechanical, Construction&Production Engineering Department in Ghent University, Belgium for a period over one year. Prof. Şahin retired from his job at Gazi University in 2018. He was started new post at Mechanical Engineering Department of Near East University on 2nd February 2018. He transferred to Department of Mechanical Engineering of Nişantaşı University on 17 August 2020. He took the project titled “Investigation of manufacturing and mechanical properties of Hybrid composites using Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding” was successfully accompolished. Mechanical Testing Center/Composite Production Laboratory was established for Mechanical Engineering Department. The list of the world’s most influential scientists, created every year by Elsevier and Stanford University (first 2%) was announced. in 1996 – 2020 period. Prof. Şahin was achieved to enter the list in the annual impact category. For 6th / 7th International congress on engineering and technology management took place in istanbul on 2021 / 2022 via online International conference, he was the Congress chairman. He left his job from the university on 27 September 2022. Prof. Şahin started to new job at Mechanical Engineering Department of OSTİM Technical University on 7th October 2022. His research interests included Composite materials, Processing, Mechanical properties, Tribology, Powder metallurgy, Manufacturing processes, Metal/Polymer composites, Experimental design and analysis; Prediction, Artificial Neural Network (ANN). He published over 150 articles in international recozed scientific journals.He also published at about 5 Books related to his topics. |

Assist. Prof. Dr. Akif HACINECİPOĞLU (Head of Department) E-Mail: akif.hacinecipoglu@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Akif Hacınecipoğlu received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2009. After graduation, he worked as teaching and research assistant in the same department from 2010 until 2018. He received his M.Sc. degree with a thesis on development of a tele-operated semi-autonomous ground vehicle in 2012 and his Ph.D. degree with development of predictive human-aware navigation systems for mobile robots in 2019 from Mechanical Engineering department of METU. He founded Milvus Robotics Ltd in 2011 where, with his co-founders, he developed Turkey’s first autonomous mobile robots for material handling needs in factories and warehouses. He also worked as a researcher and project manager in different robotics projects funded by TUBITAK and various associations. His main research areas are robotics, robot vision, autonomous systems, path planning and navigation. |

Assist. Prof. Hikmet BAL E-Mail: hikmet.bal@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Hikmet Bal graduated with bachelor degree from Mechanical Engineering Department of Gazi University Engineering Faculty in 2002. He gained his MSc degree in 2006 in the same department with a study on vision system. In 2019, he received his PhD degree in Mechanical Dynamics and Theory field by his study on the vibration behavior of shaft-bearing systems from Mechanical Engineering Department of Gazi University. He gained a multidisciplinary work experience by working as a technical staff and project engineer on information technology systems and HVAC projects in government and private sector for a long time. He worked as a tactical unmanned air vehicle operating technical staff and expert engineer in government and private sector as well. He conducts research in the areas of multibody dynamics and vibration of mechanical system, vision system and signal processing, unmanned air vehicles. |

Assist. Prof. Şafak NESLİ E-Mail: safak.nesli@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Şafak NESLİ received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Çukurova University in 2014. He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Greenwich in 2016 with a thesis on Rapid Prototyping/manufacturing of Product Assemblies, and his Ph.D. degree with a thesis on Laser Polishing of Part Surfaces Produced by Additive Manufacturing in 2022 from Gazi University Mechanical Engineering. He also worked as a researcher at Gazi University in the field of Additive Manufacturing within the scope of YÖK 100/2000 Ph.D. project between 2017-2022. He took part as a researcher in many projects supported by TUBITAK and other organizations. His main research areas are additive manufacturing and laser polishing processes. |

Prof. Dr. Yunus A. ÇENGEL E-Mail: yunus.cengel@ostimteknik.edu.tr Yunus Çengel is Professor Emeritus at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA and the founding dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Adnan Menderes University in Aydin, Turkey. He received his Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in USA. Before joining ADU in 2012, he held the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Yildiz Technical University YTU and as Advisor to President at Scientific and Technological Research Council TUBITAK on international cooperations. He also served as the advisor to several government organizations and private companies on energy efficiency, energy policies, and education reform. Professor Çengel is the author or coauthor of the widely adopted textbooks such as Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach, Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences, Heat and Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications, Fluid Mechanics: Fundamentals and Applications published by McGraw-Hill and translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, and French |

Prof. Enes TAMDOĞAN E-Mail: enes.tamdogan@ostimteknik.edu.tr Enes Tamdoğan obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Uludağ University in 2009 and completed his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus in 2011 with his thesis on “Numerical Study On Swirling Flows in a Pulverized Oxy-Coal Burner (Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Technology)”. There, he also focused on sustainable energy supply techniques beside of CCS Technologies. Then, he pursued his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Özyeğin University with research interests of cooling technologies (Direct-Indirect Liquid Cooling, etc) in electronics, heat transfer on structured surfaces, CFD analysis and experimental studies for single and multi phase Natural&Forced Convection problems. He also has worked as visiting researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta for three different projects. |

Assist. Prof. Tolga DURSUN E-Mail: tolga.dursun@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Tolga Dursun received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1996. He received his M.Sc. degree with a thesis on correlations of ultrasonic sound attenuation and velocity with yield strength, fracture toughness and Young’s modulus in 1999 and his Ph.D. degree with a thesis on the failure analysis of bolted laminated composite plates in 2006 from Mechanical Engineering department of Gazi University. He has been working on R&D projects at defense industry for 25 years. His main research areas are mechanical behaviour of composite materials, dynamic behaviour of materials, finite element method, gun dynamics and mechanical vibrations. |
