Prof. Dr. Sare SAHİL

She completed her undergraduate education in Ankara State Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture in 1978, her master's education in Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences Business Administration Institute in 1980, and her doctorate in Gazi University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Architecture in 1987.
Assistant at Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Department between 1979-1982, Research Assistant at Gazi University Engineering-Architecture Faculty Architecture Department between 1982-1986, Lecturer at Gazi University Engineering-Architecture Faculty Architecture Department between 1986-1990, Gazi University between 1990-1998 She worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Engineering, as an Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Gazi University between 1998-2004, and as a Professor at the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Gazi University between 2004-2022. He served as the Vice President of the Architecture Department between 2001-2004 and the Head of the Architecture Department between 2009-2022.


She also served as a Faculty Board Member as Associate Professor or Professor, as a Professor, as a Member of the Board of Directors, as a Member of the Academic Criteria Preparation and Science Commission, as a Member of the Academic Appointment and Promotion Criteria Evaluation Commission, as a Member of the Board of the Continuing Education Application and Research Center, and as a member of the BAP Scientific Commission.
Since 2011, she is still a member of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, High Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. In addition, since 2009, she has been a member and chairman of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Karabük, Istanbul Regional Boards for the Protection of Cultural Heritage No. IV (Historical Peninsula).


She still continues her duties as a member of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Cultural Heritage Conservation High Council and Ankara Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board Member.


She was a member of the Concrete Cultural Heritage Specialization Committee of the 26th Term UNESCO National Commission.


She has scientific and academic studies and publications in Architecture, Architectural Design, Theory in Architectural Planning and Design, Criticism, Method, Conservation, Restoration and Renovation in Building Environment, Settlement and Products, within the scope of Architecture-Planning-Design Basic Area as her research areas. She has been the editor of important scientific and academic journals. She has been a member of many juries in professionally important architectural competitions.

 

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yılmaz KILINÇ

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yılmaz Kılınç   after he has been graduated with M.S and PhD. (Civil Engineering) from Colorado State University, U.S.A has been appointed as faculty member of Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Division, Water Resources Engineering for 20 years at METU, between 1973- 1993. Beside at DPU, KKU and HKU (Hasan Kalyoncu University), he had served as Head of Civil Engineering Department and Dean of Architecture and Engineering faculty. With permission of METU he had been recruited as UNESCO Expert of U.N and UNDPI Nigeria, Kaduna (1982- 1984) in his field of Water Resources Engineering. In 1985 he had been hired in Higher Education Council- Word Bank Instructor Training project. He had also thought and carried out a project about on Engineering Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering. He had enough national and international publications.  At the U.S.A literature he has “KILINC Equations”.  He had given several conferences and seminars in the field of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. He was a chairman of University Entrance Exam in Ankara(1979- 1981)

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal YAMAN (Department Head)

Dr. Yaman completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Mechanical Engineering (1997), Master's (2001) and Doctorate (2007) studies at Gazi University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received the title of Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering in 2021.

He started his professional career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Machine Theory and Dynamics, graduating in 1997 with the first rank in the department he graduated from. While he was a Research Assistant, he gave undergraduate level courses such as System Dynamics applications, Control Engineering, Technical Drawings, Machine Design, Mold and Die Design and Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing.

In 2002, he started to work as a Researcher at TÜBİTAK SAGE. He completed TÜBİTAK SAGE as Mechanical Production Unit Head, Mechanical Design Unit Head and the last seven years as Mechanical Systems Group Coordinator. During his eighteen-year TÜBİTAK mission, he took part in more than thirty projects at various levels. Together with TÜBİTAK UZAY, he worked as TÜBİTAK SAGE Project Executive within the scope of RASAT Özel Üretimleri.

In 2020, he left TÜBİTAK SAGE and established his own company under the name of A&K Defense AG. After working in the Defense Industry sector for about a year, he worked as the Design Group Leader at Ankara Teknopark Enekom Railacoustic Company between 2021-2022.

He transfers his experiences in the field of Defense and Aerospace Technologies to the new generation through external courses given at various universities. He has served as a referee in various academic journals and congresses. He has many national and international scientific publications as well as one international patent. He knows the English language. He is married and has two children.

His fields of study are Mechanical and Industrial Design, Mechanical Vibrations, Manufacturing Engineering, CAD/CAM Technologies, GD&T, Image Processing, Fracture Mechanics, Finite Element Methods and Polymer Composite materials.

 

Assist. Prof. Dr. Nurgül İNAN

She received her B.S. degree from Architectural Faculty at Istanbul Technical University in 1986. She has worked for several architectural offices, building sites and a factory during her business life. She has received her MSc and PhD degrees from Architectural department at Gazi University. In addition to her professional business life, she gave several courses for 10 years as a part-time lecturer at Gazi University. Inan has published several articles, one of them is included as a chapter in a book, in many scientific journals and has presented papers in many symposiums and congress. She is interested in computer aided design, earthquake-proof building design, kinetic design, ecological architecture and design for disabled people. Inan also prepares audiobooks for visually impaired people in the National Library.

 

Assist. Prof. Dr. İlkay Dinç UYAROĞLU

She received B.Arch. degree (2004) being awarded first-class honors from Selçuk University. She earned M.Arch. degree on architectural design of community-based/inclusive rehabilitation centres in the Department of Architecture, Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2008. In the same department, she received her Ph.D. degree in 2015 with his dissertation on inclusive university campus design. During her graduation studies, she had worked as a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Architecture, METU where she worked for teaching architectural design, practice and theory courses and research projects. Between 2016 and 2020, she conducted theoretical and applied courses on architectural design, interior architectural design, inclusive / universal design, disability policy, sustainable design, and urban perception at Atılım University and Başkent University. Her current research fields are architectural education, interior architecture and environmental design education, inclusive/universal design, cinema and disability, refugee and accommodation.

 

 

Assist. Prof. Dr. Gizem Kuçak Toprak

She received B.Arch. degree (2009) being awarded first-class honors from Karabuk University Department of Architecture. She earned M.Arch. degree on Architecture Competitions in the Department of Architecture, Gazi University. In the same department, she received her Ph.D. degree in 2020 with new building designs in historic cities. After having the opportunity to work in different sectors and fields, she continued her academic studies as a research assistant (2013-2016), lecturer (2016-2020) and Assistant of Professor (2020-2021) in Atılım University Department of Architecture between 2013-2021. She served as a lecturer in architectural project, basic design, architectural expression techniques courses. In line with her research on the relationship between science fiction and architecture; her research on learning architecture by experience, she opened and conducted Science Fiction and Architecture and Architectural Researches Insitu courses. She has served as a thesis monitoring committee membership, thesis qualification, thesis defense, seminar jury membership in master's and doctoral theses and referee some journals. She is interested in new building designs in historical cities, architecture competitions, architecture design, architecture education, architectural researches insitu, science fiction and architecture and the future of space. 

 

    Assist. Prof. Dr.  Kevser ÇELTİK ŞAHLAN

She completed her undergraduate degree at the Department of Architecture of Faculty of Architecture of Gazi University, in 2001. She got her master’s degree in 2007 with her thesis titled, “The Role of ‘KUDEB’ in the Local Autorities in the Maintenance and Simple Repair Processes of Cultural Heritage, Case Study: Sivrihisar”, in Conservation of Cultural Heritage (Restoration) Program of the Department of Artchitecture of the METU (Middle East Technical University). As the founding partner of “Artı Bir Proje Grubu” architecture firm, she successfully completed the restoration projects of important buildings in Turkey, landscaping and street rehabilitation projects in the field of architectural preservation and restoration between 2007-2011. Furthermore, she also worked as the site supervisor in the project of restoration of historical structures of the General Directorate of Foundations and the Ministry of National Defense between 2008 and 2019. She served in the implementation of public, private and European Union projects as a project manager in leading companies in the furniture industry between 2011-2021. She got her Ph.D. in 2018 with her thesis titled as “The Reflection of Inhouse Textile Production to Space in 19th and 20th century Ottoman Socıety: Tradıtıonal Isparta Houses” which she completed in the Ph.D. Program of the Department of Architecture of Gazi University. She has scientific research on the protection of cultural heritage structures and historical environments and creating self-sufficient spaces in terms of energy. Protection of historical cities and cultural heritage, organizing interiors, energy efficient space production, space and production relations, furniture development and design are among her areas of interest. Her primary goal is to combine her private sector experience and academic competence to carry out qualified scientific and academic studies and contribute to training the manpower needed by the industry.

    Assist. Prof. Zeliha Şahin Çağlı

Dr. Zeliha Şahin Çağlı works as a full-time Faculty Member and Erasmus Program Coordinator in the Department of Industrial Design. In addition to her previous work as a professional architect, she also provided project management, consultancy and contracting services to companies. (1999-2013)

She gave lectures on "Building", "Basic Design", "Design Studio", "Physical Environmental Inspection", "Model Making Techniques" to the departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture at Çukurova University (where she received her doctorate degree) and Toros University. She participated in international design workshops, presented papers at conferences and published her papers. She prepared scientific research projects and was a member of the jury at the graduation project presentations of Bilkent, Çankaya and Atılım Universities. Her sculptures were included in the Contemporary Arts Center exhibition. (2013-2021)

In her research, Dr. Çağlı has focused on the energy saving of systems with renewable, accessible materials and technologies that provide plus value to existing solutions with sustainable development goals.  She is also interested in Building Energy Performance, Energy Efficiency simulations, Disaster-Resistant Design, Archeology and sculpture.

Because of her belief that sustainability should also be included in the flow of knowledge and experience, Dr. Zeliha Şahin Çağlı monitors the academic life of her students after graduation and maintains uninterrupted scientific communication with national and international experts and her professors.

  Assist. Prof. Dr. Merve KURT KIRAL

She graduated from İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, The Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, undergraduate program of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2011 as the 7th of the graduate honour list. In the same university, she finished the postgraduate programme, which she started in 2014 as a scholarship student, with the thesis she wrote on the authenticity in terms of protecting industrial heritage by focusing on Samsun Tobacco Factory Buildings. She attained her Ph.D. degree in 2020 from Atılım University, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Architecture Doctoral Program with the thesis titled as “Spatial Formation in Arcades as an Urban Space Element: Ankara-Yenişehir Arcades”. Thanks to this thesis, she casts light on a space typologies by discussing passages” structuring styles in urban spaces with the reasons of space typologies. She worked as an assistant in the lectures of interior design between 2011 and 2014 in Bilkent University, the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. Her academic field of interests are industrial heritage, re-evaluation, interior design, urban/spatial formation, urban space and arcades.

   

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet ATAK 

Senior Expert Mechanical Engineer

He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany in 1992. After working as a mechanical engineer in various companies in Germany for about 22 years, he returned to Turkey in 2012. He worked as a Senior Researcher at TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute for 5 years. Then he worked as the Structural Engineering Manager in TAI Space Department for 2 years. He completed his Ph.D. in Gazi University, Department of Industrial Product Design in September 2019. From the beginning of 2020 to August 2022, he worked as a lecturer at Gazi University TAI Kazan-Vocational School. From now on he has been working as the head of the Industrial Design Department at OSTIM Technical University. In addition to his advanced design and analysis expertise, he has been and is doing R&D consultancy in the energy, medical, chemical plants and recently aerospace sectors.

 

Assist. Prof. Dr. İbrahim YAŞAR

Dr. İbrahim YAŞAR graduated from METU Mechanical Engineering Department in 1992. He completed his master's degree in 1996 and doctorate in 2002 at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He attended the National Security Academy and TODAI Diplomacy Training. He graduated from the School of Justice. He studied Arabic at Ankara University and Gazi University School of Foreign Languages, Arabic Preparatory Classes.

In 1993, he was appointed as a Research Assistant to the Department of Materials Science, Department of Mechanical Engineering at KTU. In the same department between 2002 and 2004, He worked as a Dr. Research Assistant. He worked at the National Boron Research Institute as a specialist between 2004-2007 and as a Research and Development Coordinator between 2007-2014. Between 2014 and 2023, he served as the Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, Head of the Strategy Development Department and Industrial Property Specialist. He gave "Engineering Materials" courses in KTO Karatay University Mechatronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments in 2011-2014, and "Intellectual Property and Innovation" courses in different departments of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in 2017-2023. On February 1, 2023, at OSTİM Technical University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Industrial Design, he started working as a lecturer.

While working at Karadeniz Technical University;

He worked as a researcher in two TUBITAK projects,

  • In addition to two SCI publications, one in Tribology International (195 citations), one in Journal of Materials Science (65 citations), He has one scientific article published in J Eng Environment Sci.
  • He presented papers in 4 different conferences, 2 national and 2 international.

While working at the Boron Research Institute;

  • He took part in the evaluation processes and coordinated the execution of hundreds of projects, managed the commercialization processes of the project results,
  • Took part in the Organizing Committees of the Boron Workshops, and gave many seminars on boron and boron projects.

While working at the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office;

  • He chaired the Re-examination and Evaluation Board, which is the last decision autority of the Institution for 3 years,
  • He coordinated the preparation process of the Industrial Property Law (IPL),
  • He participated in many trainings as a trainer about industrial properties such as patent, trade mark, industrial design and geographical indication, requested by different institutions, especially universities and chambers of industry and commerce.
  • He chaired the 2015 Trademark Attorney Examination, and won the 2017 Trademark Attorneyship exam and was entitled to become a Trademark Attorney.

He acts as an expert in areas related to patent, trademark and design rights. Dr. İbrahim YAŞAR speaks fluent English and intermediate Arabic. He is married and has three children.

Founding Owner; Tasarım fikirleri aims to work with companies that what to integrate uniqueness with design, deliver experience about product design and inform and support about how strategic efficiency can be manage. Director at OSTİM Industrial Design and Engineering Center: It is model that brings industrial design and engineering support together and is positioned close to the industrial producers. It primarily provides service at the leading defense and health sectors at OTM Ankara. Management of the design and production of the industrial product is the main responsibility.

Mustafa HASDOĞAN, Instructor

Mustafa Hasdogan graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Industrial Design in 1985. Between 1985-88 he worked as a designer in the furniture industry. Between 1988 and 2014, he carried out furniture and interior design projects and applications in his own company named Parantez Tasarım. He worked as a part-time instructor at Middle East Technical University between 1989-2019. Since 2011 he has been teaching drawing and design as a part-time instructor at Atılım University. As a substitute member of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects, he contributes to the foundation studies of chamber of industrial designers. He is the Vice President of Industrial Designers Society of Turkey (ETMK), of which he is one of the founders and has worked in its board for many years.

   

Büşra BULUT, Instructor

Busra Bulut was gratuated from Karadeniz Technical University as the honor student in 2016. She got master of science degree from Esksehir Technical University Department of Architecture in 2020. She took charge in several private firms at corporate and private projects as an interior architect. Her academical interests are architecture, interior architecture, 2D and 3D drawings, besides her article studies for national and international journals are going on. She has been working as an academician at OSTIM Technical University Vocational High School since May 2020.

 

   

Birsen YÜCESES, Instructor

She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Department of Architecture in 2011. She participated in voluntary activities in Turkey and Italy in conservation of buildings. She has continued her academic education in Hacettepe University in Engineering Management program, which she completed in 2018. She has received MSc degree from architecture department at Gazi University. In her professional business life, she has worked in many building projects from concept through completion. Her works and interests are architectural design, architectural restoration, construction managements, computer aided design and building information system (BIM). She has been working as a lecturer at OSTİM Technical University Vocational School since May 2020.

 

Research Assist. Merve SEYHAN

She graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Industrial Design in 2018. Since 2019 she has been doing her master studies in Gazi University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Industrial Product Design. Her works and interests are product design, design researches, 3D visualization and marketing. In her master's thesis she is working on examining the relationship between planned obsolescence and industrial product design. 

   

 

Research Assist. M. Eda ALPER

In 2017, she completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul Arel University, Department of Industrial Product Design, with a full scholarship. Same year she started to study mechanical engineering’s mechanical design area as a Master Student at Yıldız Technical University. She continued her education at Berlin Technical University in 2019 with Erasmus student exchange programme. In her graduate thesis, she focused on the design of a breast pump by combining design and engineering approaches. Her current fields of research are systematic design, surface modeling, product design, interface design.

She graduated from Gazi University, Department of Industrial Product Design in 2020.During his undergraduate education, she studied at The Universitat Jaume I, Spain with the Erasmus student exchange program. The same year after her graduation, she started his master's degree at Gazi University, Department of Industrial Design. She worked as a manager and designer for 2 years in the company she founded in 2020. Now, she continues his master's degree, which she took a break due to force majeure.

She completed her undergraduate education in 2021 at Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Industrial Design. During her undergraduate education, she worked as a project student and intern in companies such as BSH Home Appliances, Garanti BBVA, and QNB Finansbank. Immediately after her graduation, she worked as a designer in the industrial furniture sector for 1.5 years. Then, in 2023, she started her graduate education at Gazi University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Industrial Design Department. Areas of study and interests; product design, user experience design, user interface design, service design and design research.
