Prof. Dr. Filiz ERSÖZ (Head of Department)

Filiz ERSÖZ completed her undergraduate education in 1989 at Anadolu University, Department of Statistics (1989), her master's degree (1992) and doctorate (1998) at Ankara University, Department of Biometrics.

Prof. Dr. Ersöz started her career as a "Statistician" at the Turkish Statistical Institute between 1989-2001, worked as a "Dr. Operations Research Specialist" at the Land Forces Command between 2001-2006, and as a "Dr. Probability and Stochastic Processes Specialist" at the KHO between 2006-2012.

She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Quantitative Decision Methods by ÜAK in 2011. She worked as a faculty member at Karabük University, Department of Industrial Engineering between 2012-2023. She has held academic administrative positions as the Director of the Institute of Science, Department Head, and Member of the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Committee. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida, USA, for a total of 9 months between 2013 and 2015. She worked part-time at the Department of Industrial Engineering at Özyeğin University for a while, and worked as a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Group of Information Engineering at Pisa University between 2023-2024. She is the author of the books “Statistics-I”, ‘Statistics-II’, ‘Data Mining Techniques and Applications’, ‘Statistical Data Analysis with IBM SPSS’, and ‘Simulation and Modeling’. She has done numerous scientific publications, master's and doctoral thesis consultancy, and national and internationally supported projects. Prof. Dr. Filiz Ersöz, whose research areas are statistics, system simulation and modeling, data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence, data science and decision theory, is married and the mother of two.

Prof. Dr. Serdar MÜLDÜR

Prof. Dr. Serdar MÜLDÜR graduated from Naval Postgraduate School/USA with MS degree in Computer Science. He worked as operation engineer, project manager, program manager and head of computer information center between 1985-2000. He received Ph.D. degree from Gazi Üniverstesi/ANKARA in 1999 and Assoc. Prof. Dr. degree in 2004. Between 2000-2017, he worked as a vice president of HAVELSAN, responsible for Turkish Navy, Air Force and Land Forces command and control programs, including National Corvette (MİLGEM), Submarine and other types of ships’ command control and combat systems development. Between 2000-2018, he was a part time professor for computer engineering department of Başkent Üniversitesi/Ankara and Gazi Üniversite for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. He has been taken responsibilities as board member and chairman of board members of some public and private corporations since 2007.

Interest areas are Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Database Systems and Quality for Software Development.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Meltem ERYILMAZ

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Eryılmaz is a faculty member at OSTİM Technical University, Software Engineering Department and Project Development and Management Office Application and Research Center Coordinator. She completed her undergraduate education at Middle East Technical University, Department of Statistics, her graduate education at Atılım University, Department of Computer Engineering, and her PhD at Ankara University, Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies Education. During her academic career; she has worked full-time at Atılım University, Department of Computer Engineering; part-time at TED University, Department of Software Engineering; and internationally, she has been a guest lecturer at Lodz University, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Poland, and University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Department of Software Engineering. She teaches courses and conducts academic studies in the fields of data mining, database management systems, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, machine learning, e-learning, innovation in education, and digital transformation. Founder of InVictaAcademy, founding member of the Academic Informatics Foundation and member of the Central Executive Board of the Turkish Informatics Association, Eryılmaz was elected to represent Turkey in the Executive Board of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies-CEPIS in the election held in Brussels in November 2022.

Dr. Can Güldüren is a faculty member at OSTİM Technical University, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Head of the Department of Software Engineering. He completed his education at the Military Academy (Business Administration), Middle East Technical University (Computer Engineering Education), Master's Degree: Ankara University (BOTE) and Selçuk University (Management and Organization), PhD: Ankara University. Between 1998-2009, he worked in various positions as personnel information systems system analyst, system developer, team leader, database designer and project manager at the Turkish Armed Forces. Between 2009-2013, he worked as the ASOS project manager in coordination with SSM and Havelsan. During his academic career, he worked as a full-time faculty member at Ufuk University and part-time faculty member at Atılım University, National Defense University and Başkent University. He has published many articles and book chapters within the scope of his field of expertise and presented numerous papers at international conferences.

His research interests are generally information security, internet programming, educational social networks, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and virtual reality, health informatics, e-learning, new learning technologies, personal learning environments, technology-supported applications and DBMS.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Yücel TEKİN

Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Ostim Technical University, Dr. Yücel Tekin is a distinguished expert in software engineering, project management, and curriculum innovation. With a strong focus on Software Project Management, he has successfully led and managed software development projects, integrating methodologies like Agile and Waterfall into academic and real-world scenarios.

Dr. Tekin has designed and taught key courses such as Software Development Processes, Computer Networks, and Data Structures and Algorithms, equipping students with the skills to excel in software engineering. His leadership in international robotics and software competitions has resulted in numerous awards, showcasing his ability to guide multidisciplinary teams toward success.

As the founder of Robotum.net, Dr. Tekin has developed cutting-edge educational content, blending robotics programming with software engineering principles. His expertise extends to modern software project management, fostering innovation and practical problem-solving in diverse technological domains, preparing students to excel in a global software engineering landscape.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Anıl MÜNGEN

Dr. Ahmet Anıl Müngen is a faculty member of the software engineering department at OSTİM Technical University. Dr. Müngen completed his undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees at Fırat University Engineering Faculty Computer Engineering Department. Dr. Müngen has a large number of academic publications. Additionally, he presented academic studies at numerous international academic symposiums.

Dr. Müngen has developed software for the leading companies in the IT sector for more than ten years. During this period, he served as a team leader, project manager, and technical manager. Dr. Müngen pioneered one of the industry's leading companies with their knowledge and experience.

Dr. Müngen has a book chapter published by Springer, one of the most renowned international publishers. Dr. Müngen focuses on big data and data mining applications in both scientific and sectoral fields.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Maksat ATAGOZİEV

He received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Kyrgyz Technical University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and M.S. and Ph.D. (with major in Computer Engineering, and minor in Control Systems) degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey.

His research interests include intelligent transportation systems, vehicular technologies, vehicle maneuver coordination and scheduling.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ramin ABBASZADİ

Dr. Ramin Abbaszadi completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Tabriz University in 1998, then received his master's degree in Information Systems from Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University and Tehran Faculty of Engineering in a joint program, and then received his PhD degree from the Department of Computer Engineering at Hacettepe University in 2022. He wrote his PhD thesis on the topic of end-to-end convolutional neural network framework for low-resolution feature recognition. After starting his business life, Dr. Ramin Abbaszadi worked as a software engineer and project manager in many projects both domestically and internationally. Many of the projects he has carried out and managed are currently actively working in different parts of the world. The important projects he has carried out within this scope are as follows; Istanbul 3rd Bridge Video Analysis Project (stationary vehicle detection, reverse vehicle detection, person detection, vehicle accident detection, and similar detections), Tunnel Artificial Intelligence Video Analysis Project, Electronic Microscope Image Processing Analysis Project (actively working in many parts of the world), Safe City Project (Vehicle license plate detection and reading, vehicle brand model and color detection, speed detection, intersection control, traffic light penalty management, and similar analyzes have been done. This project is currently working in many countries of the world and in Turkey), Face Recognition Project (currently actively used in Istanbul Zorlu shopping mall), KGYS Project. Apart from these, he has also worked in many different projects.

Research Areas: Computer Vision, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Object and Face Detection, Super Resolution.

Research Assist. Mehmet BİLGİN

He graduated from the Mechatronics Engineering Department at KTO Karatay University in 2017.
In 2024, he graduated from the Mechatronics Engineering Department at Necmettin Erbakan University.
He is pursuing his PhD in Computer Engineering at Hacettepe University.
His research interests include industrial collaborative robotic arms, machine learning, image processing, and optimization algorithms.

 Research Assist. Behiye CANBAZ

Behiye Canbaz completed her undergraduate education in 2019 at Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Computer and Educational Technologies Education. In 2023, she completed her master's degree with her master's thesis on Mobile Augmented Reality Technologies at Gazi University, Department of Computer and Educational Technologies Education. She is currently doing her PhD in Computer and Educational Technologies Education at Gazi University. Between 2017-2019, she worked in the field of content development at Gazi University Distance Education Application and Research Center. Between 2019-2021, she worked as an information technologies and software teacher. In 2022, she worked as a research assistant at Piri Reis University, Department of Management Information Systems. Since 2023, she has been working as a research assistant at Ostim Technical University, Department of Software Engineering.She has worked on wearable technologies, distance learning environments, and big data. She continues her studies on various topics.

Research Assist. Berat Alp KAVUNCUOĞLU

Berat Alp Kavuncuoğlu graduated from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Computer Engineering (English) Department in 2022. During his undergraduate education, he took part in various projects in areas such as web applications, game development and machine learning. During this period, he interned at Emek Elektrik and ROKETSAN companies.

Berat Alp Kavuncuoğlu, who started his master's degree at Ostim Technical University in 2023, continues his academic studies actively. His areas of interest include Software Project Management, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Software Testing.
