Prof. Dr. Aziz AKGÜL  

He graduated from the Turkish Military Academy Department of Business Administration. He earned his MBA degree from Department of Business Administration at the Middle East Technical University, Turkey and his MS degree from US Naval Postgraduate School. He completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Business Administration at Ankara University, Turkey. He served as the President of KOSGEB (Turkish Small Business Administration), Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Turkey and Member of the Turkish Parliament. He is the pioneer of the Turkish Grameen Microfinance Program which provides microcredit to financially challenged people and also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Turkish Foundation for Waste Reduction. He has published 17 books and many articles on diverse topics that range from Business Management, Operational Research, Statistics, Defense Industry and Happytalism.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT 

OSTIM Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences member Professor Mustafa Polat has received his undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering from Turkish Military Academy in 1994, his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Yeditepe University in 2000 and his Doctorate degree in Business Administration from Uludağ University in 2010. Professor Polat became an Associate Professor in Management and Strategy in 2012 and a Professor in 2021. He worked as a faculty member, department head and division head at the Military Academy for many years and served in the team working on the feasibility study for the Modern Tank in 2000. He was involved in the foundation of National Defense University between 2016 - 2019 and took part in the reformation of the curriculum at the Military Academy and in that scope, he designed the undergraduate Logistics programme offered at the Turkish Armed Forces and the Turkish Military Academy for the first time in 2019. Professor Polat offered various lectures at Erzincan University, Atılım University and Turkish Aeronautical Association University and gave seminars at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy as well as other various civil and public entities. He has published international and national articles, book sections and papers in Management, Strategy, Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Professor Polat has been serving as a volunteering advisor for various educational institutions since 2003, trying to contribute in the occupational and career development of young minds. Professor Polat is currently working on individual and organizational skill development at businesses on the way to national development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamide Özyürek 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamide Özyürek is a member at Ostim Technical University, Department of Business Administration. She became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2004. She worked as an accounting manager in private companies. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Department of Business Administration from Anadolu University, Master’s degree from Ufuk University and Ph.D. degree from Kırıkkale University. The title of her Ph.D. dissertation is “Time-Driven Activity-Based Cost Method: Its Application in the Manufacturing Sector”. She has publications in many national and international journals. She participated in conferences in various countries, especially in Hong Kong, Italy and Switzerland and presented her works. She was in Germany in 2013 within the scope of the project titled "Developing Professional Skills on EU Tax Practices and Tax Audits". Within the scope of Erasmus teaching mobility, she gave various accounting courses in 2016 at the Technical University of Košice in Slovakia. The main subjects of her study are cost accounting and managerial accounting. She continues her academic life, which she started in 2007, with the title of associate professor in accounting she received in 2020.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Hocagil

Abdurrahim Hocagil, PhD, received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, from Ege University in 2005, his Master of Management degree from Cambridge College in 2010, and his Doctorate degree in the Global Leadership Program with a concentration in Organizational Management from Indiana Institute of Technology in 2020. Dr. Hocagil has over ten years of management experience, having worked at various organizations in both the USA and Canada. 

In 2022, Dr. Hocagil joined Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON, Canada, and Conestoga College, Kitchener, ON, Canada, as a contract teaching faculty member. Since then, he has been teaching various undergraduate and graduate level courses at the business schools, including Management and Leadership Skills, Introduction to Business, Human Resource Management, Recruitment and Selection, Decision Making for Managers (MBA), Organizational Behavior (MBA), Leadership and Team Building, and Organizational Behavior II (Organization Theory). Dr. Hocagil began working at OSTIM Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, as an adjunct faculty member in September 2023 and joined the faculty as an assistant professor as of January 2025. 

Dr. Hocagil’s research interests include Global Leadership and Followership, Management, Organizational Behavior, Internalization, and Multinational Organizations. He has served as the chair of the Followership Member Community of the International Leadership Association and has served as a coordinating council member of the Teaching Followers Courage organization, which assists academicians and consultants in applying Leadership and Followership in research, curricula, workshops, and organizational culture. Additionally, Dr. Hocagil has participated in organizing first and second of the Annual Global Followership Conferences in Canada and the USA as a volunteer organizing member and currently serves as the chair of the research track of the fourth Annual Global Followership conference (2025).

Assist. Prof. Dr. Sinan BABAÇOĞLU

Sinan BABAÇOGLU, achieved his BSc in System Engineering at Turkish Military Academy in 1996, completed his MSc in Operations Research (Modelling and Simulation) in 2003 and his PhD in Technology Management in 2015. From 2007 to 2010, he served as Technology Panel Member at NATO Research and Technology Organization System Concepts and Integration Panel. He conducts academic studies in the fields of Technology/Innovation/R&D Management, Strategic Planning, and Project/Program/Risk Management.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep BAYSAL 

Zeynep Baysal has received her undergraduate degree from Yeditepe University, Department of Business Administration in English in 2013. She has a master’s degree in International Business Administration from Anadolu University and a PhD in Management and Organization from Anadolu University. She has various publications as author and editor in the field of business research. Her research interests include organization theory, virtual organizations, family businesses, strategic management and technology and innovation management.

R. A. Kübra GURALLAR

Kübra Gurallar graduated from the Department of Economics at Middle East Technical University in 2019. In the same year, she began her master's studies in the same department at METU. In September 2021, she completed her master's thesis titled “Lying Individually or In A Game In the Presence of Norm Enforcer”. She is currently continuing her graduate studies.

R. A. Zeynep ASLANCAN

Zeynep Aslancan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2021. Then, she completed his legal internship and worked as a lawyer for 2 years. In 2022, she started his master's degree by earning her thesis master's degree in Private Law from Ankara Social Sciences University. She is working on family businesses and is currently in the thesis phase.

ADJUNCT FACULTY

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah BALLI

Dr. Abdullah Ballı has held various positions within the Ministry of National Defense since 1997. Between 2010 and 2011, he carried out activities in the field of logistics in Afghanistan and various countries within NATO. He took part in various modernization projects. He received his BA from Anadolu University, his MA from Ufuk University and his PhD from Süleyman Demirel University. During his doctoral studies in the 2015-2016 academic year, he studied at Hs Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. His doctoral thesis topic is “Turkish Entrepreneur Typology and Comparison in Germany and Turkey”. He has articles, academic books, book chapters and international papers in various national and international journals. He has been a member of scientific boards at international symposiums and conferences and a reviewer in national journals. He has certificates in Risk Management, Social Facility Management and Accounting and Business English. The first academic book and academic articles in the field of Neuroentrepreneurship in Turkey, was published by Dr. Ballı. He gave undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing Research and E-Commerce at Başkent University between 2021-2022 and Business Model Development at OSTİM Technical University between 2022-2023. Dr. Ballı continues to research on entrepreneurship with neuroscientific methods and tools with a team of neurologists, biologists, psychiatrists and genetic engineers who are experts in their fields.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayşe SARAÇOĞLU

Dr. Ayşe Saracoğlu, who teaches at the Department of Business Administration of Ostim Technical University, received her bachelor's degree from the Department of Italian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Language History Geography of Ankara University in 2003, completed her Master's Degree in International Marketing from the Department of Business Administration of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University in 2011, and completed her Doctorate in Business Administration from Başkent University in 2022. Doctoral dissertation topic: On the analysis and modeling of export behavior of manufacturing and exporting companies in the construction machinery sector in Ankara. She is the shareholder and general manager of Set Makina company, which is engaged in production and export in the field of mining and construction. At the same time, she is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ostim Construction Machinery Cluster and the Vice President & President of the academy of Ostim Business People's Association (OSIAD). She is a member of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs board. She has academic studies written on the Construction Machinery sector.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Gökçe YILMAZ AKIN

Dr. Burcu Gökçe Yılmaz Akın graduated from Middle East Technical University Business Administration Department in 2002. As a Jean Monnet scholar of European Commission, she studied at European Studies Department in Leiden University (Netherlands) for MA degree in 2004-2005. In 2006, she also completed her second master’s degree in European Communities (Economics-Finance) in Ankara University. In the same year, she took part in the preparation of the Ankara Province Strategic Plan. She completed her PhD in the field of International Relations at the Middle East Technical University. Her research areas include international political economy, neoliberalism, state-capital relations, European Union, international trade and official export support programs. She has national and international conference proceedings, articles and book chapters in these areas. She is still working as an Executive in Export Credit Bank of Türkiye (Türk Eximbank), İç Anadolu Regional Directorate Insurance Marketing and Coordination Department.
